A World Cup prediction game built by one person, for the love of games and friendly competitions.
Hi, I'm Soroosh Sorkhani, a developer based in Toronto, Canada. I built Shotcall from scratch as a side project because I wanted a better way to run prediction pools with friends during world cup 2026. No agencies, no team, no VC money -- just me, a laptop, and so many late nights.
Shotcall is a free, no-money prediction game for the FIFA World Cup 2026. You and your friends join a private group, predict scorelines before each match kicks off, and earn points based on how accurate your calls are.
There's also a Champion Pick -- choose the team you think will lift the trophy, and if you're right, you get a big bonus at the end. No real money changes hands, ever. It's purely about bragging rights and proving you know football better than your friends.
New to the tournament? Our World Cup 2026 guide explains the new 48-team format, the 16 host cities, and how to make better predictions.
Shotcall is completely free to use. It is supported by donations from users who enjoy it and (potentially in the future) by unobtrusive ads. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no gambling.
Every World Cup, my friends and I end up running prediction pools over WhatsApp -- screenshots, manual tallying, arguments about who submitted before kickoff. It's chaos. I wanted something that handled all of that automatically: locks bets at kickoff, calculates points instantly, and lets everyone see the leaderboard in real time.
So I built it. The World Cup 2026 is hosted across the USA, Canada, and Mexico -- I figured if I was going to build it, I should actually ship it and let other groups use it too.
